Short-term care
Here you can find information on who is eligible for short-term stay and how to apply.
In order to be granted a short-term stay, one or more of the following conditions must be met
- You need round-the-clock supervision and/or care for a limited period and there is not enough help from home care services
- You have a need for end-of-life care
- You have a relative caring for you at home and need respite care
Apply for short-term care
In your application, you must describe your difficulties in everyday life and, if necessary, support your diagnosis with a medical certificate. Short-term stays are means-tested and are granted based on your need or your relatives need for respite care.

After the application
Your application will be received by an assistance officer who will investigate, assess, make a decision and notify you.
The housing coordinator will let you know which of the following units you will receive your short-term stay in.

Sandviken municipality charges fees for support and assistance.
