Special housing - elderly housing and dementia care homes

Special housing is for people who have such a high need for care and security that it cannot be provided in their own home with the help of home help.
In special housing you receive help around the clock. The help is adapted to your specific needs for care, health care and rehabilitation.
For those with cognitive illnesses and dementia, there are adapted dementia homes in several places in the municipality.
Apply for special housing
In your application, you must describe your difficulties in everyday life and confirm any diagnoses with a medical certificate.

After the application
An assistance officer will arrange a visit to your home to discuss your need for help. The assistance officer will then investigate whether you are entitled to special housing.
When you are granted special housing
We will contact you when we have accommodation that is adapted to your needs.
When you are allocated an apartment, you must be prepared to move in. If you decline the accommodation you have been allocated, the caseworker will follow up or reconsider the decision as your needs may have changed. The assistance officer will also ensure that you receive the support and help you need to live at home, for example through home care services.
