Basic and upper secondary courses and adapted adult education
Adult education gives you the opportunity to supplement your compulsory or upper secondary school grades. Adapted municipal adult education is also available for adults with intellectual disabilities.

Swedish for immigrants (SFI)
Municipal adult education in Swedish for immigrants (SFI) is a qualified language programme. The programme aims to provide you, if your first language is not Swedish, with basic knowledge of Swedish.
SFI consists of three study paths (1, 2 and 3) and four courses (A, B, C and D). Courses B and C can be either beginner or continuation courses, depending on which study path you follow. SFI has continuous admission at all levels.
You are entitled to study SFI if you have a residence permit and live in the municipality. You must also lack the basic knowledge of the Swedish language that the programme is intended to provide.
Läroviken is Sandviken Municipality’s unit for SFI/Swedish for immigrants.
